2020 Opening Day - March28

East Chatham Little League’s regular season is just around the corner, and we are excited for our 2020 games to begin!  While practices have been underway for a couple of weeks, Opening Day will officially kick off the season with a day full of baseball games and festivities.  Please mark your calendar for this special day and see below for details.

Opening Day Games & Festivities

When: Saturday, March 28

What: First games for all teams (check your game schedule for times when available)
Player Parade (12pm)
Ceremonial First Pitch and Season Opening Remarks (12pm) 
Our Opening Day Ceremony will be on the PIT (back) field. Players should be in full uniform and meet
with their team/coach at the left outfield gate by 12pm. Please make every effort to attend as this our
time to recognize and celebrate the teams.  The players will parade onto the field and remain on the
infield for the Opening Day first pitch.

Where: PIT (Back) Field at Pittsboro Elem. – Opening Day Ceremonies and Games
EC (Front) Field at Pittsboro Elem. – Games


Other Special Activities That Day:

Individual and Team Photos: Meet your coach in the soccer field behind the outfield of the PIT (back) field 45 mins before the start of your game.  Bishop Photography will be set up there to take photos, payments, etc.

Special Guest: The Durham Bulls mascot, Wool E. Bull, & the Chick Fil A Cow will be at the 6U (tee ball) games on the PIT (back) field from 9am-10am cheering on the teams. He may even join the kids on the field for a play or two. Please come by to meet him and support our youngest players.

Food: Marco’s pizza, Dip-n-Dots, popcorn, snacks, candy and drinks will be sold out of the concession stands at both fields. Chick Fil A sandwiches will also be available at the (2) concession stands. Hot dog vendors will be available throughout the day at both fields. We will also have a Kona Ice truck available at PIT field. (cash only)

Fan Gear: Again this year will be a chance for you to purchase official East Chatham Little League fan gear to show your support of your player and the league! Our fan gear tent will be set up near the PIT (back) field concession stand selling magnets, stickers, break away necklaces, arm sleeves, and special opening day youth shirts branded with ECLL’s Opening Day logo (Limited Volume and sizes).  Players are encouraged to stop by to get game-ready with free eye black and to initial the baseball used for Opening Day’s first pitch. (cash & card)

Fundraisers: Stop by our fundraising tent at the PIT (back) field concession stand to register for the 50/50 raffle, inquire about being an outfield fence sponsor, and get more information about our Annual Golf Tournament which is planned for this Fall.  These fundraiser activities are extremely important to help keep ECLL running, and we appreciate your support.

NEW FOR OPENING DAY: WIFFLE BALL HOMERUN DERBY
Time: 9am - 4pm, $5 entry fee for a chance to win prizes for age groups (Airpods, Gamestop gift cards, Legos sets)
